New Membership Application
You may join Chard, Ilminster and District u3a by any of the following three methods.
1. Visit New Membership Application Online to join online using a debit/credit card (or PayPal account, if you have one). Note that u3a does NOT store any card details or other financial information.
2. Visit New Membership Application Form (BACS) to join using bank transfer.
3. Download the New Membership Application Form (Cheque) to join offline. PRINT, complete, sign (important!) and then post the form with a cheque for the appropriate amount to the Treasurer (see address below). Please ensure your cheque is clearly written and unfolded so as to facilitate scanning.
Who can join u3a?
Any person who is retired, semi-retired or not in full time employment may benefit from joining the u3a movement. There is no age limit for membership.
Existing Membership Renewal
You may renew by one of the following three methods.
1. Online by bank transfer (BACS); ensure you have the correct details AND enter the correct reference! Please note that this is our preferred method, as it is free of bank charges.

2. Online by visiting Beacon Members Portal
This method could cost us £ in fees. Please use bank transfer if possible. There is NO requirement to have a PayPal account as you can pay by debit/credit card. The u3a membership management system (Beacon) does NOT store any card details or financial information. For help with this see Members Portal Guidelines.
3. By cheque posted to the Treasurer
This method could cost us £ in fees. Please use bank transfer if possible. Please post a cheque in the correct sum payable to Chard, Ilminster and District u3a to the address below. Ensure you write your membership number on the back of the cheque and that your cheque is clearly written and unfolded so as to facilitate scanning. You may save a stamp and deliver your cheque to the treasurer at the next Open Meeting.

Insurance requirements
It is an insurance requirement that all attendees at a u3a activity groups are u3a members. This requirement is relaxed for non-members who wish to try out a group before joining u3a. Prospective members are allowed two such “taster” sessions after which they must join if they wish to continue participation.
Changes to personal details (e.g. email address)
Members may update their personal details via Members Portal, guidelines for which are available from Members Portal Guidelines. Alternatively you may advise the Membership Secretary .
